This place is easy to spot on the corner of Club Boulevard and N. Roxboro, across from King's Red and White. It's attached to the Don Becerra tienda y carniceria. It is always mobbed with people but not the sort of people who review on Yelp, ha ha.

The food is pretty different from the fare at La Superior, Super Taqueria, or Restaurant de Guanajuato, which are all taquerias within a mile of Taqueria La Poblana. There is real mole (MO-lay) sauce with chocolate and guajillo peppers. The salsa squeeze condiments are way spicier than the standard salsas elsewhere. The menu is just pictures. The space is quiet and food is prepared quickly and elaborately. The servers are really nice. Overall I would call the food darker, richer, and spicier than its counterparts. But it's still quite cheap! :-D

La Poblana is tucked away just behind a grocery store and butcher shop on Roxboro St .  The menu has the usual variety of items (tacos, gorditas, sopes, huaraches, tortas, quesadillas, and even tamales on weekends) but only a few meat selections (chicken, carne asada, suadero, lengua, and a couple of others).  I would recommend this place more for take out, as the atmosphere inside is somewhat cramped. There are only a few tables inside and it's not the most inviting atmosphere, with torn vinyl flooring and only natural light.  There's a tiny 13" TV in one corner, but it was off when I went - definitely a far cry from the big flat screens at Comales and Super.  The food, though, is decent - I got a taco and gordita.  Instead of a  stuffed, rolled up tortilla, the gordita is actually made with two thick tortillas and served more like a sandwich, with lettuce and cheese.  Pretty tasty.  No salsa bar is available, but you get a small cup of it with your meal.
